東京五輪｜北海道と福島でも無観客の方向(英語記事抜粋和訳)

開催まであと2週間を切った東京オリンピックですが、東京会場だけでなく北海道、福島会場でも無観客で行われる事が本日発表されました。非常に残念ではありますが、その英語ニュースを和訳していきます。

北海道と福島会場でもオリンピック無観客

Ten soccer games are scheduled for Sapporo Dome, including two involving the Japanese women’s team.

サッカー10試合(女子サッカー2試合含む)が札幌ドームで予定されている(が、これも無観客)。

On July 10, Fukushima prefectural authorities also abruptly followed suit and said the baseball and softball games scheduled for Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium would go ahead without cheering fans.

7月10日、福島県議会は唐突に(東京都と)同様の措置を取り、福島あづま球場で予定されている野球とソフトボールの試合はファンの声援なしで行われる事になると発表した。

Events to be held in the three prefectures of Miyagi, Ibaraki and Shizuoka will allow in some fans, but at most only half of the capacity of each venue, with a maximum cap of 10,000.

宮城、茨城、静岡の3県で行われるイベントはある程度観客を入れるが、せいぜいそれぞれの開催地の収容可能人数(最大1万人)の半分程である。

But the soccer matches to be held in Ibaraki will only allow in about 1,000 to 1,500 elementary, junior high and senior high school students who receive tickets through a cooperative effort with the schools. The measure will only be implemented for three of the 11 games scheduled for Ibaraki.

しかし茨城開催のサッカーの試合では、1,000～1,500人の観客しか許可されていない。それも学校の自助努力でチケットを取った小中、高校生のみである。茨城で予定されている11試合のうち3試合のみでこの施策が講じられる。

Organizing committee officials said July 9 there would be no reduction in the 70,000 or so volunteers helping out with the Olympics. Although many of those volunteers were supposed to help spectators arriving at the venues, the no-fan policy means they will be asked to handle other tasks.

7月9日の組織委員会の発言では、7万人程度のオリンピックボランティアの削減はしない。多くのボランティアの役目は観客を会場まで誘導する事なのだが、無観客の方針が意味するところは彼ら(ボランティア)は他の役割に従事するであろうという事である。
